Monday Mini Reviews: July 23

Hi, friends! It’s uh, been a while. The last review I posted was The Book of M at the beginning of the month.  I’ve been working on my book and all of my other life responsibilities, and this blog has fallen to the wayside a little bit. I’m trying to get myself situated and in a routine where I can actually do everything I need to do in a day. So, I’m starting with some mini reviews of the books I’ve been listening to and reading in slow moments over the last month!

Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston

I fell in love with Geekerella by this author, and when I heard she was publishing an Anastasia retelling in space, I knew I had to read it. It absolutely did not disappoint when I listened to it through Audible. I loved this story and everything about it. I can’t wait to see what Poston does next with this series! You can pick up a copy for yourself on Amazon or Indiebound!

Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu

I got this on sale through Audible and spent a few mornings listening to it while I worked and played Pokémon. I didn’t love this book. Seth, our love interest was basically a teenaged douchebag Nice Guy. It was very very basic white girl feminism, which is okay, but I wanted more from it.

Meh Fox

Junk Mage by Elliot Cooper

Junk Mage is a novella that I’ve been wanting to read for a while. When Cooper got the rights back from NSP and self-published it, I knew the time was right! I read this sweet story in one sitting and was delighted the whole time. If you want sweet ownvoices m/m science fiction, I highly recommend it! You can pick it up for yourself on Amazon!

What have you been reading this month? Talk to me about it! I’m up for more recs – particularly in audio!

  1. Yes yes! I liked Heart of Iron too! I also tried to read what I thought was another book by the same author but WOW it was not by the same author and it was way less good. Heart of Iron was terrific and I cannot WAIT for the sequel.

(Also, hi! Nice to see you around these parts!)
