Top Ten Bookish Halloween Costumes

I’m not big on costumes at all – I never have been, because they’re honestly just too much of a hassle and wind up being a whole lot more work than fun. These are some easy ones for people of any age to do easily with minimal makeup and minimal effort.

Camilla Cream from A Bad Case of Stripes

Dorothy from Wizard of Oz

Madeline from the old Madeline series

Max from Where the Wild Things Are

Amelia Bedelia from her own series!

Eloise from Eloise

Tintin (better with a dog!) from The Adventures of Tintin

Hogwarts student from Harry Potter

Coraline (or Others) from Coraline

Carmen Sandiego from Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

What are some of your favorite easy costumes? Talk to me about it in the comments!

  1. I dressed up as Marcie from You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown when I was in elementary school. 🙂 We had a day where everyone had to dress up as their favorite character from a book. Marcie was the sports reporting calling the motorcycle race.
