Top Ten 2017 Releases

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by Broke & Bookish.

I’m gonna be honest with you: I almost never read a book as a new release. If I don’t get the opportunity to read it as an ARC, I generally have to wait to get it from the library, which isn’t always possible. Recently, I’ve been able to use my Audible subscription to help offset that, but then I can’t lend the books to people, which breaks my heart a little bit. Because my budget for books is really small and I live nowhere near a bookstore, I have to make do with what I can find

All that being said, I’m really excited about these books that are new release books. I will end up preordering some of these, and I hope you’ll get excited about them, too!

Binti: Home by Nnedi Okorafor – 1/31

The Education of Margot Sanchez by Lilliam Rivera – 2/21

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas – 2/28

YOU ARE HERE by Jenny Lawson – 2/28

The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco – 3/7

A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi – 3/28

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon – 5/30

Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popovic – 8/15

I’ve got a woefully incomplete calendar of book releases here – what books should I be on the lookout for in the future? Share the ones you’re most excited about!

*This post previously included a link to The Color Project by Sierra Abrams, but has been removed because the author has been shown to be pretty biphobic, and I’m not here for that.*

  1. Yay the 2017 lists are popping up!! But ugh I feel you on the problem of getting your hands on new releases, I have the same problem. Also, I’m such a mood reader. Will definitely preorder Binti2 though, so excited for that one. And The Hate U Give, Margot, Dimple… But I know I’ll be reading older books and nonfiction probably, I feel a bit guilty but I suck at the new releases thing.

    1. No shame from me on that one! Getting the new releases can be so difficult for me. Plus, there are soooo many older books that I could also be reading!
