Sunburn and Sidekicks

goofballs
Kim & I goofing around (Cullowhee, NC)

As you can see, I got a haircut last week. I’ve kept it fairly short in recent years, never letting it get very far past my shoulders because it gets on my nerves when it gets longer, but this is definitely the shortest that I’ve ever had it, and I love it. It was kind of  a quickly made decision, but I love the results, as I figured I would. My hairdresser and I usually know how to tell each other what we want from my hair, which is great.

If any of you are in need of a haircut, and you’re in the Cullowhee area, I definitely recommend Level 10 Salon, owned and run by Coleen Weeks. She’s a joy to be around and she’s great at hair.

Also, I planned a photoshoot with my friends, and it actually turned out being more of just a “let’s goof off and oh, okay, someone has a camera” kind of day, but it was really fun. All of us had a great time, and I got super sunburnt. I keep accidentally injuring myself by trying to look at things that are at the wrong angle to just be able to turn my head and look at based on the level of sunburn on the back of my neck (as well as halfway down my back, since I had the smart idea to wear a mostly backless dress in the afternoon with no sunscreen)

Moral of the story: Ceillie should keep sunscreen on hand, especially when I’m spending long hours in the sun. I have now bought some of the Neutrogena SPF 70 grease-free sunscreen (which I have always known to work well), as well as a ton of aloe vera gel with Lidocaine. It’s a lifesaver, truly. As is my awesome boyfriend who puts the gel on my back cause I can’t reach it.

Anyway, I hope you guys are having wonderful weeks. Mine is going to be full of really long hours in the library finishing up a 20-page paper, since that’s the main project for my English 202 class, and it’s due Friday. I’m currently at 10 pages and waiting on comments from my teacher, which I should get back tonight or tomorrow sometime.  Do not be surprised if this is my only post this week.

Love,

Ceillie
