November 2019 Wrap Up

Well, friends, I am officially no longer a Virginia resident. We are actually moved in and making progress toward getting unpacked as you read this. Chris, Taylor and I trekked all the way from Virginia to Washington state and made it here with all of our things in mostly the pieces we shipped them in! You can see a lot of the fun we had on my Instagram feed, but not all of it’s there. We ran into the big snowstorm while driving into Indiana which made things a little dicey, but we made it nevertheless. The cats have settled in nicely and are mostly getting along. Our apartment is still half-put together, but we are getting there!

So far, Washington is agreeing with us. I’m looking forward to really settling in and learning my way around town in the future. We took a fun trip to IKEA which was very fun, did a tiny bit of Black Friday shopping, and for the first time in several months, I actually wrote fiction. There are some good stories coming your way in 2020, friends.

I also cooked a bomb ass turkey for Thanksgiving which was really fun. I tried a few new things this year, from making my own compound butter to spatchcocking the bird. It was weird making a small batch of mashed potatoes rather than my family’s traditional 20lbs of potatoes, but that’s what happens when you’re feeding 3 people instead of 50.

December ought to be really fun for us all. I hope yours is, as well, friends. I didn’t write much blog stuff, for obvious reasons, so here’s what I read and watched!
