So, this month has been ridiculous, on a personal front and a work front, which has meant that my blogging has not been the best it can be.
On the work front, one of my coworkers had to go onto short term disability during her cancer treatment, and then the flu struck the newsroom. For the last week, we had two or three reporters in a 6 person newsroom. Our editor was out, as was our editorial assistant. It was rough, and I am exhausted.
On a personal note, Boy and I put down a deposit on a rental house, so we’ll have a much larger space to live for the next year! We can start moving in on May 1, which gives us a month to get everything done and get the apartment clean. Which also means we have to find a way to get the half-melted carpet pad off of the painted concrete floor without having to repaint it. If anyone has suggestions, please share, cause we honestly don’t know how to get it off the floor! Fun times, right?
Boy also got a job, which will make things 1000 times easier for us financially. We’re thrilled!
Anyway, here’s your many, many links! Enjoy. I particularly enjoyed writing the journalism piece that’s starred. It was very fun.

New rental house sounds exciting! It’s always fun to have more living space or as I call it “bookshelf space.” :p
YESSSSSS I already told Boy I’m getting at least one more bookshelf and he was just gonna have to deal with it!
OMG congrats to you and Boy!! That’s so exciting 😀
We are absolutely thrilled! Of course, it means packing up all our stuff again, but it’ll be worth it!
Ah how handy, just when I popped over to catch up, I find your wrap-up post, yay! How are you doing? Have you managed to shake off the flu? And congrats on the house, it look so cute and cozy, and finally you’ll have more book space! Oh no that carpet sounds tough, putting stuff just over it is impossible I guess? I need to sort my thoughts on Hope II into a coherent review, but can finally gush about it! Still feeling cheated that sick time was not = reading time 🙁 So everything took ages. Anyway, here’s to a great April!
