I did a ton of reading, tweeting and writing this month, guys. Between the audiobooks and the library, I’ve had quite a variety of reads this month, though most of them were fiction, as usual. Looking back, I read a lot of good books this month. Some, like Anne of Green Gables, were re-reads, but they still did not disappoint!
Audiobooks:
The Lord of Opium – Nancy Farmer ★★
Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe – Benjamin Alire Saenz ★★★★★
Dear Fang, With Love – Rufi Thorpe ★★★★
Anne of Green Gables – Lucy Maud Montgomery ★★★★
Read:
The Secret Language of Stones (ARC)- M.J. Rose ★★★
Labyrinth Lost (ARC)- Zoraida Cordova ★★★★★
The Wild Rose – Jennifer Donnelly ★★★★
Dreamer’s Pool – Juliet Marillier ★★★★
Tower of Thorns – Juliet Marillier ★★★★
Messenger – Lois Lowry ★★★
True Enough – Farhad Manjoo ★★★
Son – Lois Lowry ★★★
Hunter’s Oath (ARC) – Michelle West ★★★★
I also wrote quite a bit for work and for the blog, adding two new columns, joining a book tag for the first time, and did a blogger blind date!
I started a #tbt column that I couldn’t help but talk about The Witch of Blackbird Pond. I’m not sure yet how often I’ll do these, but I like doing them, so I hope you like reading them! I also started up Series Saturday, which will be done twice a month. The first series I wrote about was the Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale, which got a beautiful new set of covers! I’ll have another Series Saturday up next weekend for the Sacred Hunt Duology.
All of this added up to a pretty packed month, and I’m really pleased with it. With all the reading I did, I am very close to finishing my Goodreads goal for the year, and I’m debating upping it to 100 or maybe 125. I’ve had a goal of 100 books in the past, but only reached it once because life got busy, but I’m reading like 9 books a month, minimum.
Did you read some of these books? What do you think of them? And should I raise my goodreads goal, or just keep reading and see how far I get?
Holy crud, what a packed month! I feel like I haven’t had room in my brain for books or blogging recently, and it’s always fun to see someone being able to devote so much time to it. 🙂
I say why not up that Goodreads goal if you feel up to the challenge!
I had two weeks that was really slow at work, so I was able to do more reading and blogging – as long as I look productive when the bosses come by!
I am SO pumped to read Labyrinth Lost. As for your GR goal: Don’t raise it! See how far you get! Then if you want to be ambitious, you can set a higher goal for next year. Why mess with success? :p
Its so good!!!!!
I’m so glad you had a jam-packed month, Ceillie! You’ve read a big number of books (yes, that’s big to me lol), and I hope your August will be just as blessed and productive! As for the Goodreads goal, don’t set it higher! I mean, you’re bound to get past it one way or another with the rate you’re going. Just see how many books you read past your goal! 😀
12 was an unusually large number of books for me. I thank audiobooks for it! I do a lot of driving for work, and audiobooks make the drive so much more interesting! I’m hoping August will be as productive, since I *planned* 12 books….We’ll see! 🙂
