Fave Links Friday 9/13: Fanfic, Friendship and more!

If you’ve found yourself wondering where all the good writing’s gone, I’ve decided to share some of my favorite links with you on a weekly basis! It might be short fiction, it might be news articles, it might be random blog posts from me and from others!

None of these links are sponsored. I really just liked them!

Don’t forget, you can check out previous weeks’ lists in the Fave Links Friday category!

I strongly encourage you to call your representatives and tell them you won’t stand for concentration camps, and that we need some goddamn gun control. You can use Common Cause to find out who your reps are and what they stand for if you aren’t sure.

It’s Friday the 13th, y’all! Depending on your feelings about Halloween, you might already be in the spirit! If not, it’s time to start getting into it and get spoopy!

As for me, I’ll be spending the weekend with friends! Tonight, I’m going to see Lizzo perform live. Tomorrow, I’m going to see Kacey Musgraves live. Sunday, if I manage to get out of bed, I’m going to Greensboro Pride with my college friends. It’s going to be so busy but I think it’ll be so worth it. I’m super pumped. After this, though, I’m gonna need an in-person social hiatus for a while cause ya girl is exhausted.

Other than that, my life is the same as usual. Our AC is still not fixed because of insurance issues, so I’m living in front of a portable AC unit right now.

My friend Jenny interviewed Yoon Ha Lee about his work as both a fanfic and published fiction author and it was fascinating! Also if you haven’t read his books, I highly recommend them!

If y’all have been here for a while, you will know that Roshani Chokshi is one of my auto-buy authors. Well, she also wrote this essay about finding friendship as an adult and it punched me in the gut. It was so honest and real that I just have to share it with all of you as well.

The Quest for New Friendships in the Dregs of Adulthood

Last but not least, Helen Hoang has announced her third book in the Kiss Quotient series and I couldn’t be more excited!

  1. How were Lizzo and Kacey Musgraves? That is such an exciting weekend! I am currently reading my very first Roshani Chokshi book, The Gilded Wolves, and I’m loving it — such fun! such friendship! a heist! (& thanks for the linky love, I am so excited about reviving this series and have a bunch more excellent Authors in Fandom interviews coming up.)

    1. Lizzo was absolutely amazing! I liked Kacey Musgraves but had a really hard time with the flashing lights that pervaded her set design.

YOU ARE READING THE GILDED WOLVES PLS YELL AT ME ON TWITTER WHEN YOU ARE DONE I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
