If you’ve found yourself wondering where all the good writing’s gone, I’ve decided to share some of my favorite links with you on a weekly basis! It might be short fiction, it might be news articles, it might be random blog posts from me and from others!
None of these links are sponsored. I really just liked them!
Don’t forget, you can check out previous weeks’ lists in the Fave Links Friday category!
I strongly encourage you to call your representatives and tell them you won’t stand for concentration camps, and that we need some goddamn gun control. You can use Common Cause to find out who your reps are and what they stand for if you aren’t sure.
We didn’t have a FLF last week because I was on VACATION. I may have been just as surprised as you are, friends. I haven’t been on a proper vacation where I didn’t actually do any work in…. years.
Last weekend, I went to Myrtle Beach with Chris and all of his coworkers for a pest control conference. (No, I didn’t know they did those, either.) I sat my happy ass on the beach and read for basically two full days and got to visit with our good friend Maddie on the way home. It was absolutely perfect. We also met a very cool bird named Macy! (Photos above)
Except that the night before we left, our air conditioning quit. I’d like to give a shoutout to my friend Taylor for taking Luke and Paprika for the weekend on literally an hours notice so we wouldn’t have to spend big money boarding them. Especially since Paprika was a tiny fighty monster (as always.)
Luckily for us, it’s been relatively cool compared to the 100+ days we had before the AC quit, so we’re surviving well enough with fans while we work on getting our unit replaced. (Yeah, it’s that broken…)
Anyway, I’ve got some more bookish content coming up to break up all these Fave Link Friday posts. I hope you like it, because I’m excited about what I’ve got coming up.
I’ll stop blathering about my life updates now and actually share the links!
If you’re looking for some American history that involves squirrels, you’re in luck! The National Museum of American History shared this photo-heavy article and I loved it.

The next link is one that honestly sells itself. Seriously. It’s a wild ride.
South Carolina coroner confirms local Dairy Queen’s burgers are not made of human flesh
In more serious news, this is something you should all know about. The Cherokee Nation is trying to get actual representation in our government the way they deserve.
The Cherokee Nation wants a representative in Congress, taking the US government up on a promise it made nearly 200 years ago
In actual fiction, I have two stories to share. The first is a SFF story in op-ed form by Fran Wilde. It intrigued me a lot. The second is a Cast of Wonders story about knitting and family.
