If you’ve found yourself wondering where all the good writing’s gone, I’ve decided to share some of my favorite links with you on a weekly basis! It might be short fiction, it might be news articles, it might be random blog posts from me and from others!
None of these links are sponsored. I really just liked them!
Last week, Slate’s Care and Feeding column was written by Jamilah Lemieux and the second letter in this had me cackling. It has the phrase “That sort of behavior violates the spirit of Samoas and sisterhood…” and more. The particular letter I loved is the second one.
I read The Time I Went On A Lesbian Cruise And It Blew Up My Entire Life and had quite a few tears. I think this is a great read for everybody, but it gets into a great discussion of lesbian culture and how to make lesbian spaces welcoming for trans people while telling a love story.
Rosalind Bentley wrote a stunning article for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about Mary Richards for Juneteenth. Titled The Black Georgia school teacher who turned out to be a Union spy, this article will teach you all about Mary Richards who was an absolute badass. History like this is so important, and so rarely talked about. Read it. Share it.
Things I’ve Written Since The Last Time You Were Here:
I’ve been quiet here on CandidCeillie, but I’ve had plenty of things go up over on Lets Fox About It!
- I reviewed Claire Kann’s IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY which I loved!
- I revealed the cover for my friend LJ Hamlin’s latest novel – Jack Long and the Demon Deal!
- I reviewed Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lim, which was absolutely beautiful.
- I got to interview a fabulous new author, Mimi Grace, whose debut romance novel comes out next month!
And a friendly reminder that I have a new book coming out in ONE MONTH that I think y’all will love! Second Wind can be preordered on Amazon!
