Fave Links Friday 5/24/19: Deep Sea Monsters, Found Families and Misreading!

fIf you’ve found yourself wondering where all the good writing’s gone, I’ve decided to share some of my favorite links with you on a weekly basis! It might be short fiction, it might be news articles, it might be random blog posts from me and from others!

None of these links are sponsored. I really just liked them!

If you’re a fan of deep sea monsters and beautiful writing, check out This may be the ocean’s most horrifying monster (and you’ve probably never heard of it). It’s creepy and glorious!

My friend Chace Verity wrote a guest post for The Book Corps that I think is vital when it comes to Found Families. I may be biased, but I think they’re pretty great. If found families are your jam, I also reviewed their latest book, Team Phison Forever, which I definitely think you should check out if you’re into found families and queer books.

I also reviewed Wicked Saints, a Russian inspired fantasy by Emily A Duncan which was an absolute marvel! Check out my review to find out why I completely understood when this hit the New York Times Bestseller List on its debut week!

Last but not least, I loved this article about The Joy of Misreading Things, which is truly one of the least problematic joys in my life. Just the other day, I misread “multi-colored iguanas” in the picture below as “multi-colored lasagnas” and laughed so hard at the mistake that I snorted. It was delightful. And also I kind of want to make lasagna now. Welcome to my brain.

As I write this, I’m listening to Aru Shah and the Song of Death by Roshani Chokshi. I also get to start reading Not Your Backup by C.B.Lee this afternoon! I am thrilled!

Anyway, those are my favorite links from this week! What did you enjoy reading? A book? A short story? Hit me with the links! OR you can share with me some of YOUR favorite misreadings. Spread some joy around to the rest of us, why don’t you?
