Fave Links Friday 10/18: Fanfic Authors, Moving and more!

If you’ve found yourself wondering where all the good writing’s gone, I’ve decided to share some of my favorite links with you on a weekly basis! It might be short fiction, it might be news articles, it might be random blog posts from me and from others!

None of these links are sponsored. I really just liked them!

Don’t forget, you can check out previous weeks’ lists in the Fave Links Friday category!

I strongly encourage you to call your representatives and tell them you won’t stand for concentration camps and that we need some goddamn gun control. You can use Common Cause to find out who your reps are and what they stand for if you aren’t sure. This will also help you find which local elections are happening for you next month! Get prepared.

In personal news, I am finally ready to share the life change I alluded to in my last FLF and shared sort of on Twitter already. We are moving to the Seattle area in about a month with our friend Taylor! It’ll happen almost exactly two weeks after Chris and I finally tie the knot with our families and favorite humans at our side. We are super excited and super nervous, but it should be a great move for us. You’ll also get to see our (and the cats’…) moving road trip shenanigans as we drive literally from coast to coast, most of which will be on Instagram so go follow me there if you haven’t already.

In writing news… there is absolutely none. I have barely written in weeks thanks to a mix of creative burnout and the stress of changing my entire life with the move and marriage. I hope to maybe have something finished by Christmas for y’all, but I’m not sure it’s going to happen simply because of how much is going on in my life. So, I hope that y’all will keep reading and promoting my books the way you have been despite this!

On to the links!

Yet again, I have a fabulous link from Jenny about fanfic and traditional fiction from another fave – Zen Cho, author of Sorcerer to the Crown and The True Queen! Also she’s a Hugo winner!

I also had the great opportunity to write for The Pink Heart Society about neurodivergence in fiction and what it means to me as a ND woman. AND I got to share digital space with a few other autistic writers. Check it out!

#OneWorld – Neurodiverse Voices

In other, wilder news, check out this article about how monarch butterflies evolved to eat milkweed, which is totally toxic! Evolution is super interesting to me and I hope it also is to you!

Anyway, I’ve thrown a lot at you this week, so I’ll stop there. Have you read anything good in the last few weeks? If so, share it with me or chat with me in the comments or on Twitter!
