Sorry for being AWOL again, folks. As usual, life tends to get in the way. I know I didn’t post anything for these, but I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is having a happy new year so far!

There have been some changes in my life beginning this year. Most easily noticed, my hair is no longer red. I’ve elected to attempt to find my natural hair color, which is somewhere in the dark brown range. This is what I’ve ended up with, and while I’m still getting used to the changes in what I see in the mirror, I really like it.
I am also no longer a staff writer at the Western Carolinian because of a few reasons, but I will still be writing this semester with the Western Carolina Journalist, while doing photos and being the sole designer for the Western Carolinian. I am certain to still be incredibly busy.
My resolution this year is to be braver – to step up and try new things every once in a while – this applies to talking to people, professional things, and of course new foods. I started that one today by volunteering to do a speech for my Public Communication class on Wednesday. I would have had to do the speech anyway, but now I’m one of the first people to go, which is terrifying, but also liberating, cause then I’m done.
And of course, I’m always working on my book-reading goal. It’s 100 books again, since I only got to 97 last year. (So close, and yet…so far…) And for now, I’m still on track with three books read so far, and a fourth on the way. I’m currently reading an ARC of The Room Beyond by Stephanie Elmas, and I’m enjoying it so far.
While I write this, I’m sitting in the University Center listening to the sound team prep for the Mat Kearney concert tonight – I’ll probably post a few photos from the concert later this week and talk about how it went, but for now I must say adieu! I promise I’ll stay in contact better here, and post more often.
