Is it just me or has 2019 been simultaneously a million years long and also barely happened at all? I feel like it can’t just be me. I suspect that time has plodded on at its usual pace, but lordy it feels like a lot, right? Anyway, however time managed to get us here, it is December and that means the year is almost over.
I did a lot of baking this month. Mostly pies, which is weird because I’m not usually a fan of pies. In addition to that, Chris and I also got the flu, which did a number on us.
I took part in #LGBTQDeDo which is LGBTQ December Do-Over for those of us who couldn’t participate in National Novel Writing Month in November. My goal was to prepare a novel for submission, which required about 8,000 words. I also wanted to draft a futuristic f/f Frankenstein retelling, which just needed to be less than 10,000 words for the call I want to submit it to. Needless to say, that word count did not quite happen, BUT I did make some really great progress on the novel I wanted to submit. That makes me pretty happy, especially because I had barely written for a few months. I hope to continue it into the new year and have some great stuff for you to read soon!
I hope that any holidays you celebrated were with great people and that you are resting for the year ahead of us. It’s probably going to be a slog, but we will get through it together, friends.
