While I was down from my surgery, there wasn’t a whole lot I could do. However, I could hold my phone and read. Thanks to the pain and the medicines I was on, I kept falling asleep mid-page. However, that didn’t stop me from enjoying the many, many romances I read! Here are mini reviews of some of my favorites!
Marriage of Unconvenience – Chelsea M. Cameron
- Fake Marriage
- Friends to Lovers
- Childhood Best Friends
I’ve been meaning to read this book since before it came out. I love the fake dating/ marriage trope, especially when it comes to childhood friends. I also love every interaction I’ve ever had with Chelsea Cameron on Twitter. This book did a great job of making me fall in love with both of our lovebirds as well as thoroughly enjoy the side characters.
If these tropes are your thing, I highly recommend it. You can pick up a copy for yourself on Amazon!
From Scratch – Katrina Jackson
- Polyamorous Romance
- Lust at First Sight
- Friends to Lovers
- Small Town
- All lovers are people of color!
I first learned of Katrina Jackson when Em interviewed her on Let’s Fox About It. I was intrigued by what I read and thought I’d pick this up.
Of course, being me, I waited… a long time to read it. That’s just how I roll. But I found myself in the mood for reading something sexy and this was absolutely wonderful.
Jackson built a wonderful small town of Sea Port and I couldn’t wait to read more about it, which I later did in Small Town Secrets! Unsurprisingly, I also really loved that!
I highly recommend you pick up From Scratch. You can pick up a copy for yourself on Amazon!
Ripped Pages – M. Hollis
- Fantasy F/F
- Royal Romance
- Rapunzel Retelling
I’ve had Ripped Pages on my TBR (and on my kindle) since Maria Hollis announced it on twitter more than two years ago. Did I read it? No. No I didn’t. Are you sensing a theme here?
Anyway, once I actually opened this, I really enjoyed it. It’s a very sweet romance with
